Risk Assessment
Risk Assessment is a structured process of identifying hazards, evaluating their impact, and implementing control measures to reduce risks.
1️⃣ Identify Hazards
📌 Definition: Recognizing potential sources of harm (e.g., machinery, chemicals, working at height).
2️⃣ Assess the Risk
📌 Definition: Evaluating the likelihood and severity of an accident or incident.
✔ Low Risk: Minimal harm, easily controlled.
⚠ Medium Risk: Can cause injuries; needs proper control.
❌ High Risk: Severe consequences; immediate action required.
3️⃣ Implement Controls
📌 Definition: Applying preventive measures to reduce or eliminate risks.
✅ Hierarchy of Controls:
Elimination (Remove the hazard)
Substitution (Replace with a safer option)
Engineering Controls (Isolate the hazard)
Administrative Controls (Training, procedures)
PPE (Last line of defense)
4️⃣ Monitor & Review
📌 Definition: Regularly checking risk controls to ensure effectiveness and updating when necessary.
